Data architecture & engineering team

Our department for data architecture & data engineering helps operationalize our data science projects among business lines, actively contributes to the transformation of our clients’ infrastructure and organization, and democratizes data driven approaches. This team is at the core of our ability to industrialize data science and build the environments to scale while supporting wider user access to analytics. By combining our expertise on data analytics with technical expertise, the team builds environments and processes to enable live production systems integrated into our clients’ IT systems, with adequate levels of architecture, governance, security, scalability, maintainability, and resilience.

Our data architecture & engineering team consists of data architects, data engineers, and DevOps engineers. We are passionate about data processing and data quality, and eager to solve data-centric issues. We love sharing our expertise, teaching, and enjoying our craft.

In this environment, our data engineers:

• Build applications to help our clients make strategic decisions and monitor their investments and performance, using state-of-the-art frameworks and technologies
• Are directly involved in all aspects of the development, from specification to production (storage design, pipelines definition, orchestration, etc.)
• Work on a wide range of projects (e.g., data lake creation, ML algorithm industrialization, data viz dashboards deployment), always with other Ekimetrics data scientists and consultants – collaboration and team spirit are key
• Produce technical documentations for the team and others at Ekimetrics so that anyone can understand what has been developed, the issues faced, and how to solve them
• Can explain the work to non-technical people (colleagues or clients)
• Always keep in mind the business context of the project and interact with the client to understand his needs

Our typical projects last from 3 to 6 months, and throughout each project, we strongly focus on animating the community: working together over time, sharing our practices, supporting innovation, etc.

To thrive in this creative and demanding environment, our Data Engineers have a solid Tech knowledge on Cloud infrastructure, data processing, and data visualization, experience with one or several of these processing frameworks: Spark, SQL, Python, etc., as well as expertise and certifications with our preferred technology partners.
